The Fiorenza Lounge Chair by Arflex was originally designed by Franco Albini in 1952. It was actually a development of an old Albini design from 1940. The first edition of the Fiorenza Lounge Chair was manufactured by Arflex in 1952. It originally featured two elastic belts on the sides which were holding the seat. In 1956 a new model came out, this time with drop down vertical legs and without supporting which eliminated the belts and added a sleek modern look to the whole design. The third version came out in 1956. It initially featured foam rubber filling then replaced by non deformable differentiated density polyurethane foam.
This gorgeous and historic chair features a wood structure made of solid beech wood painted black and a beige non removable 100% cotton velvet cover What makes the Fiorenza Lounge Chair a wonderful example of that connection between Italian Mid Century and Modern ergonomic design combined with comfort and modernity. Osvaldo Borsani was a prominent architect in the 1950s and 1960s. Born in Varedo, in Italy’s Lombardy region he studied at the Brera Academy also known to have formed other famous designers and artists such as Piero Fornasetti and Lucio Fontana. During his early professional years he worked for his father furniture manufacturing company focused on the Art Deco style. He then opened his furniture company Tecno switching to a more minimalistic design with functionality and transformability. Some of his major works where the D70 sofa and the P40 chair. To fully immerse into his vision one can visit the famous Villa Borsani in Varedo, 20 minutes from Milan, which clearly shows the transition from classic artisan furniture of Atelier Varedo into more modernist furniture pieces by Tecno. In 2019 the New York Times Style Magazine dedicated an entire article to Borsani and his works recognizing his designs as an important contribution to the Italian modernist movement of the period. He is an influential 20th Century architect less known than colleagues Gio Ponti or Paolo Buffa and Carlo Mollino but with significant designs which are now sold at prominent auctions around the world.

Italian contemporary Leather Lounge Chair made in Italy, excellent condition with buttery soft luxury quality full grain Italian leather in a creamy beige color suitable to be combined with light or dark wooden furniture and neutral color spaces. This Italian leather lounge chair was designed by D. Bonfanti and is made in Italy production circa 2013. The chair features chrome legs and base, non deformable polyurethane foam-filled seat and back made in sections, and soft full-grain Italian leather. This Italian lounge chair is equipped with a slightly tilting back mechanism which allows for a more comfortable seat and has wide seat and back cushions with a slight curve in the structure which embrace even more the person seating. Perfect as a reading chair as well. The original price of this chair was 5,200$ at the time of production. The leather cover is non removable; the leather throw in pillow not included and can be purchased separately. These chairs have a compact size so they are perfect in small areas combined with a small side table, or in a bedroom to create a seating area. They are commonly known as "sedie da camera" which translates "room chairs" to use in any occasional space as accent pieces. These Italian Chairs from the Mid-Century period are upholstered in leather and date circa 1955/58. Brand new padding, leather cover, polished original wood. Paolo Buffa Italian High Back Lounge Chairs manufactured in the circa 1960s from our Italian Mid Century Furniture Collection.These two Paolo Buffa design lounge chairs have been restored and reupholstered with luxury white full grain leather. The structure is in dark wenge’ wood finished and the chairs presents interesting sculptural details like the curved arms and the wide and generous wing style back and extra seat pillow for major comfort. Ico Parisi attributed Italian Mid Century Sofa completely restored and upholstered with brand new silk-like leather. The leather is very soft and very smooth aniline finished of a thickness of 1.2 1.3mm from European kattles and from an Italian tannery. The color perfectly blends with lighter or darker woods finishes, with white and black, and many more color combinations but it excels when combined with brown shades. Black metal leg and brass feet. Very elegant from the 1950s yet with a modern look.
